Welcome to the CCR&R blog spot...we are excited to try this new tread in technology and share some ideas and fun activities with all of the great providers that is reading this blog. Now first this is how it will work. Every other week we will create a post of some fun songs we have heard, art projects that are cool, child directed recipe that looks yummy to make and any other neat DAP (Developmentally Appropriate Activity) we see or hear, we'll post and share the idea with you. So you will find the link on our web page, click on the link and it will send you directly to our blog.

Here is a song that is always in my head this time of year...I don't really know why but it just sticks and doesn't leave until fall.

Wind

The wind is full of tricks today,
it almost blew me far away.
It almost blew me off my feet,
when I went walking down the street.
The next time I go outside,
the wind won't take me for a ride.
For I know just what I will do,
I'll stick some gum on the bottom of my shoe.

It's Actually Growing
Pumpkin, Sunflower or Morning Glory seeds
Cottonballs
Ziploc baggies
Place two or three seeds in a ziploc baggie and then add 2 cottonballs that are damp in with the seeds. Release all the air in the bag and seal up tight. Tape the baggie in the window that faces the sun and soon you will see the seeds sprout open. After the vines start coming out of the baggie then carefully take the plant out of the bag and plant in the ground. It's a good way to teach children that seeds eventually turn into a plant and then a vegatable or fruit.

This picture is actually of Morning Glory seeds placed in a baggie with two cottonballs and drops of water. Really simple to do with preschoolers and only takes a matter of days before the seeds pop open and you see roots etc. Really cool.
